Upper Secretariat Application is now available. It can be found here.

In light of the cancellation of Conference 2020, the Upper Secretariat has put together a video for all the delegates. The video can be found here.

We have reviewed the situation for both middle and high schools as well as for our venue at the University of San Diego. Given the current limits on in-person interactions and the fact that our venue has closed for the semester, we regretfully announce the cancellation of the San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations Conference 2020.  We look forward to a time when we can join together to discuss issues of international diplomacy again, and hope to see you all at Conference 2021.

Updates can now be found here.

The San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations (SDRJMUN) Conference is the longest running conference west of the Mississippi River and is currently in its forty-third year. Inclusive of grades sixth through ninth, SDRJMUN offers an exciting and educational experience for both middle and high school students interested in the fields of international relations, peace-building, and human rights.

Each May, hundreds of students from regional middle and high schools spend two days discussing issues that relate to foreign policy, economics, history, and diplomacy. On the agenda this year are topics relating to humanitarian crises, peacekeeping, and global equity. Other issues to be addressed at the conference include human rights, the environment, and disarmament

SDRJMUN is a conference “for students by students.” Local high school students set the agendas, read the position papers and resolutions, and chair the committees. Their expertise comes from their own experiences through the JMUN and MUN circuits within San Diego County. The Secretariat is dedicated to providing SDRJMUN delegates with these powerful platforms to intellectual discovery, global understanding, and personal empowerment.

Our mission is to develop a rewarding, empowering, and thought-provoking opportunity for young students to achieve an insightful understanding of the world around them.
